CNN Poll: 52% of Americans Favor Constitutional Right to Marriage Equality

In a just-released CNN poll, nearly half of Americans believe that the rights for gays and lesbians to marry already exits in the US Constitution. Over half believe the right should exist.
Interviews with 1,009 adult Americans, including 935 registered voters, conducted by telephone by Opinion Research Corporation on August 6-10, 2010. The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points and for registered voters is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
