In a final desperate attempt to derail legislative repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Senator John "Scrotum in a Suit" McCain made the argument in yesterday's Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that now is not the time to repeal Bill Clinton's knife in the back of the LGBT community because the economy is in the tank and the American people want congress to address that first. This is from the guy who has fought tooth and nail against every economic stimulus package passed in the last two years.
Forget checking his meds again. It's time to pull the plug on this guy, or at the very least, his career. Find him a nice comfy, rubber room at the Old Bigots' Home and send a nurse in to wipe the drool from his chin now and then.
Keith Olberman covered day 2 of the DADT hearings Friday night. Regardless of all the reservations expressed by some military leaders, all of them stated unequivocally that they would implement the change with minimal problems if repeal is passed.
Alex Nicholson of Servicemembers United, a plaintiff in the court challenge to DADT, appeared on the show and said of McCain's foot-dragging, "It's completely ridiculous. McCain is dragging this thing out longer than any of us ever imagined."
