Sacha Baron Cohen Signed to Play Rock Legend Freddie Mercury

Deadline.com reports that "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen has been signed to portray Queen front man Freddie Mercury in an upcoming bio-pic about the late rocker who died from complications of AIDS in 1991. The film will cover the band's formative years up to their appearance at Live Aid in 1985.

According to the story, it hasn't been decided yet if Cohen will do his own singing, but the speculation is that Mercury's unique sound would be hard to duplicate.

  1. I think Sacha Baron Cohen is a homophobe, he may look somewhat like Freddie, but this is sad news. His characters are all of people he hates and he is making fun of them, he is a jew so Borat was an anti-Semite from a country not fond of Jews, I think he really dislikes wiggers (can't think of a better term sorry) hence Ali G, and so what to make of "Bruno"? My only conclusion is that he is a homophobe and this is how he sees gays, even if he exaggerated a bit.
