Members of Roanoke Equality and some local military veterans met with Terry over the weekend to talk about this lobbying effort. I can't emphasize enough our need for maximum community involvement. We need your help. Are you an LGBT veteran of the armed forces? This is you chance to tell your story to someone who can affect change and get rid of the shameful, discriminatory policy called "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that compels queer service members to lie about who they are in order to serve their country. The best part is, you don't have to travel to DC to do it. There is no marching involved. No protest rallies, no crowds, no picket signs or press, just a quite meeting in an office. Great piece Steve...if we get more than 10...maybe they can all take turns going in and out of the office that morning to tell their stories...or maybe all can get together to sign a petition, and attach stories to it etc to present to him..?
