New Passports Will Reflect Gender Neutral Parentage

Starting February 1st, applications for U.S. passports will change they way an applicant lists their parents. Instead of "Father" and "Mother", you'll see "Mother or Parent 1" and "Father or Parent 2".

The change is part of a revamping of the way State Department employees stationed abroad report the births of children born outside the U.S. Initially, the forms would have deleted " Mother" and "Father" altogether, but Secretary of State Hillary Clinton amended to changes to pacify right wing critics.

The Washington Post reported on Friday:
The announcement of the change was buried at the end of a Dec. 22 news release, titled "Consular Report of Birth Abroad Certificate Improvements," that highlighted unrelated security changes.

The new policy is a win for gay rights groups, a vocal and financially generous Democratic voting bloc that has pushed for the change since Barack Obama began his presidential transition in late 2008. The decision follows last month's vote to end the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, which gay leaders consider one of their biggest victories in years.
According to The Post, HRC Vice President Fred Sainz  called the move, "a positive step forward for all American families. It was time that the federal government acknowledged the reality that hundreds of thousands of kids in this country are being raised by same-sex parents."

Naturally, hate group leader and all around douche bag, Tony Perkins of The Family Research Council, has got his panties in a wad about the change, calling it the "topsy-turvy world of left-wing political correctness."

The butt sex-obsessed Perkins added, "This is clearly designed to advance the causes of same-sex 'marriage' and homosexual parenting without statutory authority, and violates the spirit if not the letter of the Defense of Marriage Act." Perkins called on Congress to take action.
