First Snow of the Season (12-5-09)

Like a lot of folks around the country, we got our first snowfall yesterday, with a total of about five inches. I braved the elements for a few minutes to take some pictures here at Morning Wood Acres.

The ducks not only didn't mind the snow, but seemed to enjoy it yesterday. No so much this morning, when they woke to find the pond about 90% frozen over. (There is a small unfrozen patch they can splash around in.) Temps dipped into the mid-teens overnight.
