Florida Gov. Charlie "Closet Case" Crist Now Supports LGBT Rights

rightsOfficial photo of Florida Governor Charlie CristImage via Wikipedia is reporting that it has obtained a new position paper from current Florida Governor and independent candidate for U.S. Senate, Charlie Crist, which states that he now supports a variety of rights and benefits for gays and lesbians. Crist was one of the targets of the 2009 documentary "Outrage", which followed blogger Mike Rogers as he investigated and exposed allegedly closeted gay politicians who actively work against LGBT rights.

According to Raw Story, the position paper states that Crist now favors repeal of DADT, medical visitation and decision making rights, inheritance and full adoption rights for gay couples and domestic partnerships, but not full marriage equality. Read the full story here.

  1. Call me envious...can we lure him to Here we sit in the dark ages. With the exception of his supporting civil unions and not marriage...I think he is on our side! Civil Unions virtually always lack many of the 1000 or so benefits which traditional civil "marriage" conveys. Furthermore, the associated public respect conveyed with being "married" to your partner is lost with civil unions.
