"Whatever Gets You Through the Night" is one of my favorite Lennon songs, because if features a duet with Elton John back when he was cool, skinny and had his own hair, such as it was.
Elton John and John Lennon had a very close friendship back in the day. When Elton performed at Madison Square Garden on Thanksgiving 1974 he called Lennon on stage to join him for several songs, including this number one hit.
