Cover of American GigoloIn 1980 the new wave/punk band Blondie, featuring lead singer Debbie Harry, was riding high on the charts with "Call Me", from the movie American Gigolo, starring Richard Gere as a high priced escort who gets caught up in murder mystery when the husband of his client, played by Lauren Hutten, turns up dead. The film captured the late 70's/early 80's mood of sex, drugs and designer everything.
The younger, buffer, Gere has lots of full-frontal nude scenes in the film, which aside from the music, is the only reason to watch it.
I used to tell my friends that when I die, I want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered over Richard Gere's naked body. Now that I'm older I realize how silly that was. Gerard Butler is so much hotter.
