Asheville Activists Launch We Do Campaign for Marriage Equality (Video)

In an effort to call attention to the fight for marriage equality in North Carolina, more than a dozen gay and lesbian couples from Campaign for Southern Equality launched the We Do campaign on October 3rd. The couples have applied for marriage licenses, knowing they'd be denied, and recorded the process for a YouTube video.

What is most moving about this video is that the clerks all seem to be sympathetic and genuinely sorry that they can't issue licenses to the couples until the law changes. Unfortunately, recent polling shows two-thirds support for banning same-sex marriage by amending the state constitution, depending on how the question is worded.
