The home of a gay couple near Raleigh, NC was claimed by fire on Friday night after a yearlong string of anti-gay harassment and vandalism at the couple's home. According to neighbors, The men were away for the weekend when fire happened.

This is unbelieveable. This is tragic and the perpetrators need to be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. That the news report didn't even mention the words gay, or hate crime, or the fact that they were harassed and vandalized for some time prior to this is inexcusable. Mentioning that there were two men living in the home, and they were out of town is not enough.Their home was burned down because they are gay...an act of pure homophobic hatred.
ReplyDeleteFrank, this was actually the least offensive of the two reports this station did. The first report, by the same reporter, used the word "homosexual" repeatedly, instead of gay. I chose to use this video, because it was the least offensive and the neighbor referred to the men as a family, which I found very compassionate on his part.
